Hey there!

I’m Cortney, and I’m not your average money gal.

I’m here because I want to do work that matters. I also like to make “money stuff” FUN. If you were to be a fly on the wall in my sessions, you’d see laughing, joking, tears, and prayer during heavy life moments.

Being in retail coffee for 11 years prior, I had never started a business before. I learned the hard way that it mattered a GREAT deal how I organized & prioritized my personal and business finances.

After losing sleep and stressing over fluctuating income, I created a repeatable flow that I now teach to other self-employed business owners. It’s called the Pay Yourself First Method.

I’ve redefined what it means to “pay yourself first” and get to help fellow business owners and side hustlers give themselves a raise and create consistency with their income even when their revenue goes down (and up). This means less burnout and a more sustainable business model.

On the personal finance side, I’ve also conquered debt. My husband and I paid off $145,000 of debt in 4 years & 9 months (mostly student loans!), and it felt like it would take forever. Looking back, we’re grateful we put in the hard work and now I get to help others have more freedom and options too.

I have a BA in Organizational Leadership and received my financial coaching training through Dave Ramsey’s FCMT (Financial Coach Master Training) program. In addition, I am a Ramsey Preferred Financial Coach and YNAB Certified Coach. In my free time, I volunteer as a Financial Peace University coordinator and serve as a deacon in the area of financial stewardship at my church.

Talking about your finances is super personal. I get it! We don’t just do that with anybody. I enjoy working closely with people to learn what’s going on under the surface, create a safe space for them, and also serve as an accountability partner. I work with clients virtually, but if you’re near, I am available to meet in Tualatin (Portland, Oregon metro area) at my office. I meet with potential clients via free Zoom consultations and would love to hear how I may be able to support you or put you in touch with the right resources.
