My Tech Stack as a Financial Coach

I LOVE structure, streamlining, and organization.

As a financial coach, I want to optimize not only money, but systems. Here’s a peak behind the curtain of the systems and processes I use in my financial coaching business and life:

  1. Honeybook
She’s my main main. For over 3 years, I’ve used Honeybook for so many things: invoicing, contracts, scheduling, reminders, lead & client management, email, and more. I wanted to get as many of my systems under one roof as I could. Things I got rid of by using HB: Stripe, Jotform, & Calendly.

  2. YNAB
AKA You Need a Budget. As a YNAB Certified Coach, I use it for not only my business finances but also my personal finances. YNAB is a tool I use to stay intentional with my money all month long. I ALWAYS know where I stand financially and confidently make spending/saving decisions because of it. As a former irresponsible spender, I’ve grown a bit neurotic about it but I just love having control over my money instead of it having control over me.

  3. Google Drive
I use Google sheets to track & forecast my business revenue. I also use it to plan out my monthly pay day, where I allocate money to pay myself, save for estimated taxes, pay for operating expenses, and save for future fluctuations in income.
I also used Google sheets to create a financial coaching workbook with my clients, and this is where we keep our action items & notes organized from our sessions.
I use Google docs for creating topic termplates for coaching sessions, which helps keep my squirrel brain on track during meetings.
I use Google calendar which imports my scheduled meetings from Honeybook. I live & die by my calendar, and our family calendar is shared between my husband and I via iCal.
Google drive is really a jack of all trades and I use it for so many things!

  4. Kit (formerly known as ConvertKit)
Kit helps me send out my monthly budget guide to my email list, so my readers can get a jump start on planning financially for their month ahead. I also use it to send out one-off email blasts to my list, which I can do in Honeybook but with fewer graphics. Kit is more comprehensive in terms of what features I can include in the email itself.

  5. Lastly, the main tech platform I use is Squarespace.
This is where my website is hosted. I love Squarespace for its easy-to-use templates when you’re creating your website. I use it as my billboard, an easy way for potential clients to find & schedule with me, I sell a couple simple digital products in my store, and I also host Money Buddies directly through Squarespace.

I wanted to give an honorable mention to Ally Bank, a high-yield savings account where I keep my fully-funded emergency fund. Check out Ally & earn $100 for your new account!
